This enrollment window includes the three months leading up to your 65th birthday, the month you turn 65, and extends for an additional three months thereafter.

Individuals who persist in working past 65 and postpone receiving Social Security benefits typically are not automatically signed up for Medicare.

For Medicare Plan B beneficiaries, neglecting to register when eligible could result in a 10% surcharge for every 12-month period you delay enrollment. If your enrollment is delayed by 24 months, you’ll incur another 10% surcharge.
