While there’s no vaccine for the coronavirus (COVID-19), there are steps you can take to keep from getting it.
What is coronavirus (COVID-19)?
It is a virus-based illness, with symptoms similar to a cold or flu. The main way it spreads is from person to person when someone with COVID-19 coughs or sneezes.
What can I do about it?
Like any virus-based illness, the best way to prevent it is not to be exposed to it. But these common-sense tips can help prevent the spread of this and other illnesses, including the flu:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water
- Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough
- Stay home if you’re sick
- Contact your doctor’s office if you think you’re sick
