Medicare Part B (medical insurance) encompasses health services delivered by physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. Coverage under Part B extends to outpatient treatment, transportation via ambulance, preventative care, and essential medical equipment. Additionally, it includes intermittent in-home healthcare and restorative services such as physical therapy.
Medicare Part B encompasses:
- Essential medical services: Support delivered by physicians, nurses, and additional healthcare professionals or apparatus necessary to identify or manage your health condition and align with established medical norms.
- Preventive services: Medical attention aimed at averting sicknesses (such as influenza) or spotting them in their nascent phase, where interventions are most successful. You incur no fees for the majority of preventive services if you receive them from a healthcare provider who agrees to Medicare terms.
The regular Part B premium in 2022 is $170.10. The typical Part B premium is paid by most individuals. If your modified adjusted gross income, as declared on your IRS tax return from two years prior, exceeds a particular threshold, you’ll pay the customary premium and an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).
